Mugen x Next 'Japanese form. British tailoring'
This is our winning project 'Mugen', which was a group project in collaboration with Next. 'Mugen' is the Japanese translation of the word 'Infinity'. We were inspired by the Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama and her exhibition 'Infinity'. She focuses on the idea of an infinite universe, and covers entire rooms with dots and mirrors to create an infinite space. This imagery helped us to generate our collection, which focuses on Japanese design with British tailoring, for example wearing kimonos over shirts and waistcoats.
